# Remove Background

> Create clean cutouts with transparency for listings, ads, and templates.

## What it does (and when to use it)

Remove Background isolates the subject (product, person, or object) and removes the background—ideal for marketplaces, catalogs, and design templates.

## Best input photo tips

* High contrast between subject and background
* Avoid motion blur and extreme compression artifacts
* Hair/fur can work well, but clean edges depend on lighting and focus

## Step-by-step

### Web

1. Import an image into a project
2. Select **Remove Background**
3. Use **Erase/Restore** (or similar refine tools) to clean up edges
4. Export as a transparent PNG when you need cutouts

### iOS / Android

1. Import an image
2. Tap **Remove Background**
3. Refine edges with brushes if needed
4. Export or share

## Output options and limitations

* Transparent backgrounds typically export as **PNG**
* Very thin details (laces, small text) may require manual cleanup

## Common issues

* **Edges look jagged**: try a higher-resolution input or refine with restore/erase
* **Subject not detected**: use a clearer image with higher contrast
