# Credits

> What credits are, what they’re used for, and how they reset.

Credits are a usage-based unit that may be required for certain AI-powered tools (especially generation).

## What usually uses credits

* Image generation and video generation
* Some higher-cost models and settings (cost varies by model and output)

## How credits work

* Credit cost depends on the tool and output settings
* Credits typically replenish on your billing cadence (plan-dependent)
* Credits are usually consumed on successful generation (with rare exceptions for moderation/safety enforcement)

## Where to check your credits

* In the Pixelcut app/web subscription or billing screen
* In the API dashboard if you’re an API customer
